Vietnam blows by Thailand in clean energy race

Chaphamon Chantarapongphan Secretary-General of the Renewable Energy Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries and Director of the Clean Energy for People Foundation gave an interview with Asia Times on June 29, 2021 titled “Vietnam blows by Thailand in clean energy race”. The interview details the investment in solar and wind power generation in Vietnam, driven by Vietnam’s rapid economic growth over the past five years and led by investment in renewable energy projects funded by foreign direct investment (FDI) especially from Thai investors. If the Thai government lacks a clear policy on renewable energy, this will cause both Thai and foreign investors to instead move towards investing in the renewable energy projects of other countries.
